I enjoyed making our solar ovens for a experiment and having a swim
I learnt about the green house effect this week and used it on my solar oven
I thought that making the solar oven plans was challenging

Last week we did some fun experiments on the sun using beer bottles and materials for insulation .
I enjoyed doing the experiment and also this week we did another experiment with chocolate biscuits.
I think I have improved in handwriting this week.

This week I have done heaps of tests which I hope I get a good score on.
I enjoyed painting my clay for calf club.
I have learnt how to make clay cats.

Its our 125th reunion
This week we buried our time capsule for 2015.
I have learnt about coding on the computer and I found that putting heaps of sentences into one was a little bit challenging.
I achieved with reminders this week also with getting our topic finished for the 125th reunion.

I found out lots of things about teaching in the past from Mr Cole and Mrs Matheson.

School house experience



‘Come on boys’ shouted mrs brown don’t have all I day.As we walked to the school house Mr dean was trying to take a photo but when he came closer Mrs Brown shouted at him ‘if your not in this class you should go away’.When we were almost at the classroom we stopped so she could unlock the old cruddy door as I walked in, the boys took their hats off,Abigail sat next to me.




After we all sat down she said in her grouchy voice now for the national anthem we copied what she said then we sat back down in the fairly old wooden chairs and she cheeked our nails to see if they were clean Abi got told hers were not clean.On our tables was a slate a slate pencil and a well with ink in it.All of a sudden her grouchy voice boomed through the room now its hand writing time as I picked up my slate pencil then,started to write in cursive at the start it was hard but then I got the hang of it and kept going until she said to stop before,we did our next activity I wiped the handwriting off my slat.



While I did that she turned back to her normal self and asked us how we were going . Freddie asked if he could rub the chalk off his nose because he was being naughty so he had to get chalk on his nose.Lets go for a school photo Mrs Brown explained we went outside and lined up in certain lines the boys at the back and the girls at the front the picture was probably funny because the girls were in smocks and hats as the boys were in vests and hats also because we were not aloud to smile.Then we got changed and mrs brown liked morphed back into mylissa.We got to keep our writing we did in class, I thought mine was pretty good.

This week I achieved to write the most notes in my group also I have learnt a lot about the olden school days from Mr Coles and Mr Boyd.
I love going to Motat this week my favorite part was the Lazer maze also the school house was very strict i'm lucky that its not like that now.

This week I learnt what the school rules were in the olden days and heaps of other things that they learnt back then.
I have achieved in writing notes for our Topic and I have the most out of the people in my group.
I found finding the notes challenging .
I have enjoyed learning that curved shapes can tessellate.

This week I have learnt what tessellations are and they are shapes that fit together with no gaps.

Reflection

This week i have learnt some things about healthy eating and here is some of them in your food when you look at the nutrient panel.

• you have to have less than 10% fat
• less than 10% of sugar
• also that you have little tears from your muscles then protein comes and sews them up
• you should have less than 400 mg of sodium
• sodium helps you sweat
• you should have to run an hour to get a sip of powerade if your not a athlete or do any sports
• when you get to twenty your bones stop growing
• i have learnt some easier ways to do your times tables

I showed Care when I helped Monique plant the trees.
I enjoyed the novel studies and tree planting.
This week I learnt more about 3D shapes.
I did one of my best pieces of writing about a Squirrel and an eagle.



Close Attack



The beautiful noise of the Autumn breeze can be heard ,as the red, yellow, golden and brown leaves gracefully floated from the trees. A golden squirrel was scrambling in the leaves. All of a sudden the quiet mammal sprang out of the leaves onto a tree and ran as fast as lightning up the dark brown trunk, grabbed a yummy nut and peacefully ate it slowly , not knowing what was about to happen. As he was eating the scrumptious food. An eagle spied something out of the corner of his eye he spotted the rodent and moved closer to have a closer look. He hopped closer and closer and suddenly it soared towards the little creature in a split second the rodent ran as fast as lighting jumping from branch to branch.



Then he scrambled across the ground again up another tree and in tiny hole in that tree. But the tiny nut eating creature was too fat from eating too much nuts so it couldn’t get in,he must of been stressing.But he managed to squeeze through in the nick of time. The furious predator landed right next to the tiny hole in the tree then it tried to grab the fluff ball with his beak, but the hunter couldn’t reach.Then the hiding critter looked out of the hole to see if it was safe to come out.

I have enjoyed being at Waiau pa school so far and i've made a lot of friends.

I learning to put slope on my writing and i have found learning my 6 7 and 8 times tables hard.
I have enjoyed the way we do things and the way i like the sky tower run.

I have kept up to date with my novel study for reading.. It is a funny story.
